Tourism Minister, RODNEY SIKUMBA has challenged marketers to propose strategies to Government that will market the country as a tourist and investment destination of choice.

Mr. SIKUMBA says marketers are well placed to market the country’s products, goods and services because of their unique skills that also connect them to different international communication avenues and organizations.

He says his Ministry in next year’s national budget is looking at involving seasoned marketers to be attached to Zambian foreign missions as Tourism Attaches, to vigorously market the country.

The Minister spoke last night in Livingstone at the Zambia Institute of Marketers -ZIM- Awards Gala Dinner.

Speaking at the same event, ZIM Council President MWEWA BESA said the organization is committed to changing its posture and provide interventions to the country’s economic challenges.

Mr. BESA said the institute through its education department is planning to introduce a tourism and destination marketing programme to support the planned growth of the tourism industry in the country.
