Chete and Sikula Islands are located on Lake Kariba in Sinazongwe District of Southern Province. The Islands are located some 12 km into the lake near the Zambia – Zimbabwe International boundary. In terms of size, Chete Island extends up to about 26km2 while Sekula Island is 7.0km2, and thus a total of 33km2.
Chete and Sikula Islands can be accessed by water from the mainland either on the Zambian side or the Zimbabwean side. Air transport to the islands is only possible by helicopter or hot air balloon.
Chete and Sikula Islands support a small and diverse population of large and small mammals.
