Responsible for the core function of the Authority to protect, conserve and manage Zambia’s wildlife Resources based on a decentralized regional management structure; establishing viable Community Resources Boards (CRBs) & implementing community-based natural resources Management practices in Zambia’s Game Management Areas (GMAs)
Responsible for protected area and resource use planning, research and ecological monitoring and maintaining an efficient database and information dissemination
Responsible for enhancing DNPW’s public image, revenue generating through development and promotion of commercial ventures and external resource mobilization through strengthening of international cooperation
The Legal Affairs Section is responsible for providing legal advice and opinion on all legal matters and represents the Ministry in civil litigation through the office of the Attorney General.
The Section also drafts Statutory Instruments in order to compliment the Zambia Wildlife Act No.14 of 2015 and drafts agreements on behalf of the Ministry of Tourism.
