The Ministry of Tourism is proud to support Zambia’s participation in the 2025 UNESCO Africa Week, taking place from May 19–21, 2025, at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France. Under the theme, “Global Solidarity for the Restitution and Restoration of African Heritage through Culture, Education and Sciences,” this event presents a vital platform to highlight the intrinsic connection between culture and tourism.
As part of Zambia’s exhibition, the country is showcasing a sculpture of the Big Five wildlife species an iconic symbol of the nation’s rich biodiversity and a cornerstone of its tourism and conservation strategies. These majestic animals are central to Zambia’s appeal as a premier destination for eco-tourism and safari experiences.
The exhibition also features handcrafted wooden artworks by local artisans and displays of traditional attire, celebrating Zambia’s cultural identity and the craftsmanship that sustains rural economies. These exhibits not only honour Zambia’s heritage but also demonstrate how culture and creative industries contribute to sustainable tourism development.
This international event offers a unique opportunity to promote Zambia as a culturally vibrant and ecologically diverse destination, strengthening tourism’s role in heritage preservation, economic growth and global engagement.
